Position Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is in search of experienced Senior Bridge Project Engineers to enhance our Bridges & Structures division.

As a pivotal player in ensuring the safety and functionality of our nation's bridges, our engineers utilize extensive design expertise across various bridge types and sizes. From evaluating and rating existing structures to crafting innovative designs for new complex bridges, we are dedicated to enhancing infrastructure while minimizing long-term maintenance costs. Our team recognizes the importance of delivering bridge solutions that align with budgetary and scheduling constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a wide range of engineering principles and practices within our bridge engineering projects.
  • This role encompasses both design responsibilities and client interactions, with opportunities for business development and project management.
  • Support the training and growth of design personnel, serving as a resource for design inquiries.
  • Engage in the review, revision, and/or development of Standards of Practice.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on project drawings produced by drafters, designers, and engineers.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of a Project Engineer.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, collaborating with other design professionals and contractors.
  • May take on the role of quality coordinator for projects led by the discipline.
  • Participate in professional association committees to help establish policies, standards, and research initiatives at various levels.
  • May have the authority to stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as the Engineer of Record for specific projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Bridge Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Midas Civil, and LEAP Bridge.
  • Prior experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Interest in developing leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with Civil 3D is an advantage.
