Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Construction Inspector to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Bridge Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process of bridges and ensuring that it is completed in accordance with contract documents and plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Monitor Construction Activities: Oversee the work and daily activities of road and bridge construction crews to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
  • Document and Verify Work: Monitor and document work zone and traffic control operations, complete Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) for assigned work activities, and verify the work and daily activities of road and bridge construction crews.
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance and help resolve challenges related to the construction operations, attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings, and help coordinate project start-up activities.
  • Inspect and Evaluate Bridge Structures: Assist with in-service bridge inspections and bridge project scoping.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma is required; Associate degree in civil technology or related field is desired.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related bridge construction/inspection experience is preferred.
  • Certifications: MDOT Certifications required.
  • Skills: Knowledge of MDOT specifications, basic computer knowledge/skills, and ability to work in a team environment and have good communication skills.
