As a key player in ensuring the safety and functionality of our nation’s bridges, our bridge engineers utilize extensive design expertise across various bridge types and dimensions. From evaluating and rating existing structures to innovating new complex designs, we are dedicated to improving bridge infrastructure while minimizing long-term maintenance costs. Our team recognizes the importance of delivering bridge solutions that align with both budgetary and scheduling constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement diverse engineering principles and methodologies within our bridge engineering projects.
- The role encompasses design responsibilities along with client interactions, offering opportunities for business development and project management.
- Guide and mentor design staff, serving as a resource for design-related inquiries.
- Engage in the interpretation, revision, and creation of Standards of Practice.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on project drawings from drafters and design engineers.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of a Project Engineer.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, collaborating with other design professionals and contractors.
- May oversee quality coordination for discipline-led projects.
- Participate in professional association committees to help establish policies, standards, and research at various levels.
- May have the authority to stamp/sign drawings or reports and/or serve as the Engineer of Record for projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Bridge Engineering.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Midas Civil, and LEAP Bridge is essential.
- Prior experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects is highly valued.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Interest in developing leadership and coaching skills.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Experience with Civil 3D is advantageous.
