About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our Buildings/Electrical team, you will be responsible for leading electrical engineering design projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) by performing peer reviews, QAQC on projects prior to submission, and coordinating with supervisor or electrical department leader.
  • Work Planning: Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
  • Quality Control: Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
  • Business Development: Participate in formulating and coordinating proposals and provide other Marketing support.
  • Team Management: Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and manpower needed on projects.
  • Collaboration: Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Code Compliance: Assist in verifying that all design aspects comply with local code and apply code provision.
  • Discipline Collaboration: Collaborate with other disciplines to provide a coordinated design.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years electrical engineering design experience is required within the architecture field.
  • Licensure: Licensed engineer in Michigan and/or Ohio is required.
  • Software Skills: Intermediate to advanced level of Revit, AGI Lighting, and power studies (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP) software skills preferred.
  • Other: Passion for power, lighting, and fire alarm design. Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
