Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Server to join our team at Potomac Family Dining Group. As a Server, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to our guests in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver food and drinks to guests using our team delivery system
  • Interact with all bar guests to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
  • Greet guests, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and drinks
  • Complete assigned opening and closing side work as required
  • Present guest checks to dining room patrons and make correct change or complete credit transactions
  • Relay food orders to the kitchen via our point-of-sale computerized register system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Serve alcohol according to all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company and brand policies
  • Participate in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables using our team delivery system
  • Observe guests, respond to requests, and anticipate guests' needs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ability to explain and demonstrate usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
  • Ability to drive sales with suggestive selling
  • Write and repeat guests' orders to ensure accurate listening and order fulfillment
  • Accommodate any special needs of guests, such as booster chairs, high chairs, or other requests
  • May occasionally be scheduled to serve guests in a Host/Hostess or Carside To-Go Server role
  • Perform general utility functions as requested by management
Equipment/Computer Skills:
  • Point-of-sale computerized system
  • Phone
  • Soda fountain operation
  • Tabletop Electronic Device
  • Operation of cleaning tools, such as cleaning cloths, buckets, brooms, vacuums, and non-electric vacuum sweepers
Supervisory Responsibility:

This is a non-supervisory role.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Friendly and engaging demeanor
  • 18+ years old
  • Prior server experience preferred
  • ServeSafe Food Certification a plus
  • Reading, writing, basic math, and verbal communication skills required
  • Bi-lingual experience a plus
  • Reliable transportation required
  • High School Degree or GED preferred
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
  • Ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor, and wipe down booth seats in the bar area
  • Transports plates, glasses, and baskets to and from the service bar and kitchen more than 30 times per shift
  • Mobility required during the entire shift
  • Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a good sense of balance, be able to reach, bend, stoop, and kneel, and frequently lift and bus pans and trays frequently weighing 25 pounds or more
  • Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other team members
  • Transports and carries objects such as high chairs up to 15 pounds up to 15 times per shift
Travel:

Less than 5% of the time.

Working Conditions:

Subject to wet floors and loud noises in a fast-paced environment.
