Position Overview:

The Government Sales Executive at Barrier Technologies will be responsible for generating sales opportunities through various channels, including industry publications, referrals, and research. This role will emphasize marketing and sales strategies within the public sector, necessitating effective database management, client documentation preparation, and support for sales objectives and lead generation.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in navigating government procurement processes, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and consistently meeting sales targets in the public domain. Additionally, this individual will be tasked with training, supporting, and managing relationships with channel partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve designated revenue goals through collaboration with channel partners.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with partners.
  • Provide education on our products and services, including ongoing training through webinars and presentations.
  • Analyze and report on partner performance using metrics such as sales activity and revenue.
  • Submit regular reports detailing activities and results, including daily and weekly plans.
  • Document all activities in the CRM system as per standard operating procedures.
  • Work closely with partners to develop initiatives aimed at increasing sales.
  • Collaborate with the internal sales team to ensure accountability and continuous training.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Engage in client meetings and presentations.
  • Create client-facing sales presentations, quotes, and proposals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and maintain professional knowledge through networking and participation in relevant societies.
  • Communicate effectively with all organizational levels, clients, and staff.
  • Ensure timely and professional communication with customers.
  • Focus consistently on meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong closing skills.
  • Exhibit self-motivation, active listening, and the ability to work independently.
  • Attend industry events to foster relationships and promote the company.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in government sales or a related field, with a solid understanding of procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with government contracts and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with e-procurement systems is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in selling through channel partners is preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain advocate relationships with partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • An advanced degree or certification in government sales is advantageous.
