Job Overview

CDR Companies, a prominent multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting firm, is looking for experienced CEI Inspectors for upcoming projects. This role is crucial for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction work in various locations across Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute complex technical tasks related to field surveying and construction layout.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities and perform engineering computations.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of junior inspectors.
  • Prepare and deliver daily reports that align with the requirements of CDR Companies and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to the contractor's health and safety protocols.
  • Verify compliance with contract specifications and standards.
  • Inspect materials delivered to the site to confirm they meet contract requirements.
  • Assess contractor layouts for accuracy and compliance.

Additional Duties:

  • Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities as directed by management.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by the position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in construction inspection, including two years specifically in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
  • Experience with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects is preferred.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering along with one year of CEI experience in road and bridge projects may substitute for the required experience.

  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
