Company Overview: CDR Companies is a leading national firm specializing in multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting. We are currently seeking experienced CEI Inspectors to join our team in a dynamic role focused on construction oversight and technical assignments.

Position Summary: The CEI Inspector will be tasked with executing intricate technical duties related to field surveying and construction layout. This role involves making and verifying engineering calculations, overseeing construction activities, and conducting essential field tests. Additionally, the inspector will coordinate and supervise junior inspectors, ensuring that all work aligns with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout.
  • Perform engineering computations, inspect construction activities, and carry out field tests.
  • Manage and coordinate the efforts of lower-level inspectors.
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily reports in compliance with company and project requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the contractor's health and safety protocols.
  • Verify compliance with contract documents by the contractor.
  • Inspect delivered materials for conformity with contract specifications.
  • Assess contractor's layout for accuracy and precision.

Additional Duties:

  • Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities as directed by management.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by the position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in construction inspection, including two years in bridge or roadway inspection.
  • Experience with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects is preferred.
  • A Civil Engineering degree with one year of CEI experience in road and bridge projects may substitute for the required experience.
