Company Overview: CDR Companies is a prominent national firm specializing in multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting. We are currently seeking experienced CEI Inspectors to join our team in a dynamic role focused on field surveying and construction oversight.

Position Summary: The CEI Inspector will undertake intricate technical tasks related to construction inspection and layout. This role includes making and verifying engineering calculations, assessing construction quality, and executing field tests. The Inspector will also be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of junior inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout.
  • Verify engineering computations and oversee construction activities.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of lower-level inspectors.
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily reports in compliance with company and client standards.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols set by contractors.
  • Verify that all construction activities align with contractual obligations.
  • Inspect delivered materials for compliance with contract specifications.
  • Review contractor layouts for accuracy and precision.

Additional Duties:

  • Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities or as directed by management.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in English communication and basic mathematical skills.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in construction inspection, including two years in bridge or roadway inspection.
  • Experience with relevant regulatory bodies is preferred.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering may substitute for part of the experience requirement.
