Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI), you will oversee the personnel assigned to the inspection and management of roadway and bridge projects. Your role will include:

  • Effectively managing manpower and ensuring staff levels meet client expectations.
  • Directing a complex construction engineering administration and inspection program.
  • Planning and organizing tasks for subordinate staff members.
  • Developing and reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with Department standards through program reviews.
  • Managing intricate highway projects to guarantee adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Coordinating personnel efforts with clients and collaborating closely with contractors to resolve project issues.
  • Overseeing project budgets and forecasting workload for future pursuits.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida (or the ability to obtain it within six months if registered in another state).
  • A minimum of six years of engineering experience, with at least two years in relevant transportation projects.
  • Experience with complex bridge projects, particularly in major bridge construction.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to lead a specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program.
  • Skills in planning and organizing work for staff, along with policy development and program reviews.
