Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Engineering Inspector (CEI) to join our team in the Orange County area. This role is crucial for overseeing complex technical tasks related to field surveying and construction layout. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of construction work through rigorous inspections and field tests, while also managing a team of junior inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout.
  • Perform engineering computations, inspect construction activities, and execute field testing.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of lower-level inspectors.
  • Compile and submit daily reports detailing work performed, adhering to company and project requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to the contractor's health and safety protocols.
  • Verify compliance with contract documents by the contractor.
  • Assess that delivered materials meet contract specifications.
  • Review contractor's layout for accuracy and compliance.

Additional Duties:

  • Travel as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities or as directed by management.
  • Perform other related tasks as required, commensurate with the position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in construction inspection, including two years specifically in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
  • Experience with relevant state departments of transportation is preferred.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering with one year of CEI experience in road and bridge projects may substitute for the required experience.
