Construction Compliance Inspector

GAI Consultants is looking for a Construction Compliance Inspector to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring that construction activities adhere to established plans and specifications. The inspector will work closely with the CEI Project Administrator and will be responsible for monitoring contractor performance and maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting intricate technical tasks related to field surveying and construction layout, including engineering calculations, construction inspections, and field testing.
  • Collaborating with senior inspection personnel to receive guidance and coordinate efforts.
  • Interpreting construction plans and specifications accurately.
  • Ensuring contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Documenting construction activities through written reports and photographic evidence.
  • Monitoring site quantities and performing necessary construction mathematics.
  • Verifying compliance with permits.
  • Conducting materials verification, including the collection of field samples at designated intervals.
Required Certifications:
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection (preferred)
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts and related structures) (preferred)
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Physical Demands:
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to navigate challenging terrains typical of construction sites.
  • Must be able to walk on steep and uneven surfaces in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, including at least one (1) year in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
