Your Role

We are seeking a seasoned and licensed Lead Surveyor to join our Community Development division. This position is critical in overseeing various surveying projects and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in business development and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, construction staking, control surveys, and platting for land development initiatives.
  • Manage financial aspects and performance metrics of all survey projects, supervising both office and field personnel.
  • Lead project management efforts, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination for multiple surveying and mapping assignments.
  • Facilitate collaboration between survey teams and clients, as well as other professionals within Stantec.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance for survey projects.
  • Mentor and develop survey staff, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
  • Promote Stantec's services within the industry.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Credentials

  • Must hold a valid Professional Land Surveyor license in California.
  • In-depth knowledge of local surveying regulations, principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Land Surveying, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role, including workload management and staff development.

This position is primarily office-based, involving extensive computer use and periods of sedentary work.
