Your Role


Stantec is seeking a qualified and licensed Lead Surveyor to join our Community Development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in business development and maintain client relationships.
  • Oversee and manage boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, construction staking, control surveys, and platting for land development initiatives.
  • Supervise financial aspects and performance of all survey projects, managing both office and field personnel.
  • Handle project management, including scope, scheduling, budgeting, and personnel management for multiple surveying and mapping assignments.
  • Coordinate survey activities with clients and other professionals within Stantec.
  • Deliver surveying and mapping services for both private and public sector projects.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance for survey projects.
  • Lead, develop, evaluate, and mentor survey team members.
  • Promote Stantec's services effectively.
Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Must hold a valid Professional Land Surveyor license in California.
  • In-depth knowledge of local surveying regulations, principles, techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Strong grasp of general concepts relevant to surveying tasks.
  • Ability to tackle complex challenges with sound judgment and creativity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in Land Surveying.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role, including workload management, staff development, and performance evaluations.
  • Typical office environment with extended periods of computer use.
