School and Library Sales Manager

Our diverse catalog also includes children's literature ranging from middle grade to young adult fiction, picture books, and board books.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven professional to fill the role of Sales Manager for School and Library. This position is crucial for managing our relationships with key accounts that cater to the school and library sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee sales and marketing initiatives for the School and Library division, representing both core and client publishers.
- Promote and sell the complete range of titles from our core and client publishers.
- Establish and nurture strong partnerships with accounts to foster collaboration and drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to create and implement targeted marketing strategies for the school and library sector, while managing the co-op marketing budget.
- Assist in forecasting title budgets by providing insights specific to the school and library market.
- Conduct weekly performance analyses of accounts to identify growth opportunities.
- Work with publishers to create tailored product offerings for specific accounts.
- Provide valuable feedback to sales and publishing teams regarding market trends and account initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing and Publicity teams to enhance our presence at key industry trade shows, including meeting with accounts and supporting booth operations.
- Identify and recommend process improvements between Sales and related departments to enhance channel sales performance.
- Support the Senior Director of Sales with various projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the book industry, specifically in sales or marketing roles.
- Experience with the school and library market is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the account landscape and sales processes, with knowledge of consumer and industry trends being advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in title sales and inventory forecasting.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and effectively solve problems.
- Self-motivated with a track record of developing and executing revenue-generating strategies.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn new applications.
- Willingness to travel for trade shows, account visits, and select author events.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
