Job Title: Facilities & Operations Coordinator

Join Brown University's Residential Life team as a Facilities & Operations Coordinator. This role is responsible for ensuring the physical, environmental, and security conditions of our residential facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage facility conditions in residence halls, conducting regular visual inspections and initiating service orders for repairs.
  • Communicate with students about ongoing repairs and issues, providing timely updates and solutions.
  • Manage the central key control system, tracking lock changes and lockouts for billing purposes.
  • Adjudicate student damage charges and communicate department policies and procedures related to residential facilities.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student personnel to provide support in operations areas.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of related experience in facilities or operations management, office management, or similar operations capacity.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, particularly in defusing tense situations.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse perspectives, including academic, socioeconomic, cultural, racial, ethnic, national, ability, gender, sexual identity, and intersectional identities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs, work under adverse temperatures and/or weather conditions, and lift and carry 50 pounds.
