Position Overview:

We are looking for a Safety Specialist to oversee compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. This role encompasses the collection and analysis of safety data, preparation of compliance reports, and the establishment of internal safety protocols. The specialist will conduct thorough safety inspections, deliver training to staff, and maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collection and analysis of safety data
  • Preparation and submission of safety reports
  • Management of Workman's Compensation
  • Conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance
  • Providing training for plant personnel
  • Maintaining records of compliance activities
  • Managing incident reports
  • Conducting industrial hygiene sampling
  • Coordinating with community and government entities
  • Staying updated on regulatory changes
  • Promoting sustainability and governance initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations at all levels, including hazard assessment and various safety programs.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid, AED, and Stop the Bleed certifications are preferred or candidates should be willing to obtain them promptly.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective interaction with regulatory bodies and training sessions.
  • Organizational Abilities: Proficient in maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely documentation submissions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels, fostering a cooperative safety culture.
  • Training Proficiency: Skilled in developing and delivering training programs related to safety processes and procedures.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with regulatory issues, including program development and policy implementation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 45 pounds.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a drug screening and background check is mandatory.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 annually (based on experience) plus commission.
