Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance and Food Safety Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality within the organization. This position is essential in ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Food Safety and Plant Manager in implementing and maintaining Food Safety and HACCP protocols across all operational areas, including the Harvest Floor, Fabrication Floor, and Packaging Room.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that aligns with the company's core values.
  • Oversee daily Food Safety operations, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Conduct regular temperature and quality assessments during processing activities.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to verify accuracy and yield percentages before product invoicing.
  • Collect necessary samples for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Food Safety and Plant Manager to conduct routine audits, ensuring compliance with Food Safety regulations.
  • Maintain daily USDA-FSIS logs, ensuring they are accurately completed and assigned to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure timely and precise completion of all Food Safety documentation.
  • Engage with management and staff to provide ongoing Food Safety training.
  • Monitor tasks to ensure completion within the designated timeframe.
  • Remain present on the production floor during USDA inspections, documenting all Critical Control Point (CCP) checks.
