Key Responsibilities

In a fast-paced environment like ours, priorities may shift frequently. This role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:

Overview:
Accountable for achieving annual sales targets and overseeing the business development process for the designated region.

Act as the primary leader for business development initiatives and client relationship management for specific accounts. Responsible for nurturing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

Collaborate across regions with other business unit leaders.

Strategic Planning & Management:
Engage in and contribute to the overall strategic planning process of the company.

Lead the formulation and execution of strategic plans for assigned accounts.

Contribute to the development of relevant company-wide business unit strategies.

Participate in and/or spearhead improvement initiatives.

Develop and implement corrective measures to meet performance expectations.

Business Development:


Direct the account planning process for specific accounts while supporting the corporate account planning framework in alignment with company-wide business unit strategies.

Monitor and adapt plans to achieve desired outcomes.

Lead prospecting initiatives and pursue key opportunities for the designated accounts in the region.

Facilitate the Go-No-Go decision-making process for potential contracts/projects.

Design and execute client-specific account plans, including business development strategies.

Engage and network with client stakeholders.

Support broader company-wide business development needs as necessary.

Adjust prospecting targets to optimize success rates.

Oversee the preparation of proposals and coordinate efforts with team members, including the signing of proposals and contracts.

Formulate strategies and tactics to enhance the likelihood of closing proposals and negotiating contracts.

Collaborate closely with corporate development leaders and regional office management.

Assess and refine the results of prospecting efforts, applying lessons learned to improve future proposal success rates.

Work collaboratively with the regional vice president of business development and other consultants to develop effective selling strategies and activities.

Project Execution:
Ensure that project execution plans meet client expectations.

Participate in significant client meetings throughout the project delivery process.

Hold a billable role within the assigned accounts/markets.

Maintain open lines of communication with project delivery leaders to ensure high-quality service at the client level.

Engage in the regional/unit resource allocation process.

Ensure that project execution plans are developed in accordance with company policy.

Monitor project execution plans to ensure compliance with client expectations regarding quality, timeliness, and budget.

Collaborate with the office vice president and regional leaders to resolve project-related issues with clients.

Team Development:
Participate in the top grading process for key regional and corporate positions.


Identify potential new hires who can enhance project delivery and leadership roles, thereby increasing the likelihood of securing more work with assigned accounts.

Provide training as needed and serve as a mentor to junior staff.

Lead by example in alignment with CSA's guiding principles, policies, and business practices.

Encourage healthy communication pathways among all project stakeholders and office leaders.

Complete timesheets and approvals accurately and punctually.

Conduct regular team meetings to keep staff engaged and informed. Participate in office operational meetings.


Monitor team members' performance relative to their roles, responsibilities, and objectives, escalating issues to regional managers and HR as necessary.

Manage and engage in the 360-degree performance management process.

Oversee the talent acquisition process for the team and ensure appropriate staffing levels.

Continuously enhance personal leadership and management skills.

Act responsibly in addressing areas for improvement.

Support all employee empowerment initiatives by actively contributing, participating, and managing required processes.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated business development skills and established network in the Florida market.

Bilingual proficiency is advantageous but not mandatory.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.

A minimum of 15 years of experience in AEC business development.

An organized senior architect or senior engineer.

Strong communication abilities.

Experience with public sector architecture/engineering procurement.

Proven business development and account management experience.

Experience in drafting multi-discipline technical proposals and RFQ packages.

Ability to lead new business pursuits with a successful track record.

Strong existing professional relationships within the Florida market.

Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment with geographically distributed team members.

Site visits or meetings may necessitate local travel or occasional travel to other CSA offices.

Experience with project typologies including airports, water infrastructure, educational facilities, affordable housing, parks, commercial/retail, and institutional building design and renovation.

Committed to actively participating in the CSA culture.

Motivated to engage in professional networking events to generate project leads.

Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

A strong team player with a proactive mindset.

Capable of performing well under pressure and adapting to changing dynamics.

Registered Architect or Professional Engineer in the State of Florida is preferred.


Preference for experience in southeast Florida, particularly in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward Counties, and/or along the I-4 corridor from greater Tampa to greater Orlando.
