Overview:
Safari Club International (SCI) is a prominent organization representing over 50,000 hunters and nearly 200 chapters globally, committed to advocating for the right to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation.

Since 2000, SCI and its affiliated SCI Foundation have contributed over $70 million towards conservation efforts, supporting the preservation of natural habitats and wildlife.

The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the management and daily functions of SCI's revenue-generating business sectors, including Membership, Record Book, and Publications.

This role is crucial in ensuring that these departments collaborate effectively, aligning their efforts towards the overall health of the organization's revenue streams.

The Vice President will also ensure that business operations are conducted efficiently while prioritizing the needs of clients and members.

Key responsibilities include monitoring existing business programs for effectiveness, strategizing improvements for efficiency, and identifying new revenue sources to enhance profitability.

The Vice President will play a vital role in developing strategies and implementing plans to optimize all facets of business operations.

All candidates should exhibit a strong understanding of and commitment to hunting as a critical component of sustainable and ethical wildlife management.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of SCI's current initiatives and a passion for advocating hunters' rights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement, manage, and assess operational processes and procedures in line with organizational standards.

2. Develop and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to financial expectations.

3. Supervise daily business activities and the positioning of these activities by the Senior Leadership Team.

4. Formulate strategies, business plans, and processes for approval by the CEO and Volunteer Leadership.

5. Analyze operational details across various business functions to create synergy that drives revenue.

6. Prepare and present executive reports, analyze data, and strategize based on statistical insights.

7. Identify and implement innovative technologies, budget management, merchandising, inventory control, and customer satisfaction strategies.

8. Engage with various stakeholders, providing updates on business operations to the CEO and volunteer leadership.

9. Monitor revenue margins and productivity, recommending new directives for growth or change.

10. Manage support staff, including hiring, training, and performance management in collaboration with Human Resources.

11. Foster an open communication culture through regular team meetings and updates on goals and best practices.

12. Evaluate team and individual performance, setting clear expectations and goals.

13. Recognize high performance and encourage innovative thinking among team members.

14. Prepare the team for future challenges through training and succession planning.

15. Attend relevant meetings and events to maintain professional connections and represent SCI.

Qualifications:

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in business operations, including 5 years in a senior leadership role. An MBA is preferred.

Candidates must have experience managing human and financial resources at a senior level and providing support to executives and boards.

A valid driver's license and insurability under SCI policy are required.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to tackle new challenges.

Time management skills and adaptability to organizational needs are crucial.
