Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 Depending on Experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional service and support to all Tech9 employees and stakeholders.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts and act as the main contact for job descriptions and postings, managing the hiring process for numerous seasonal positions, coordinating interviews, onboarding, and training for hiring managers to ensure equitable and efficient processes.
  • Develop and implement compensation strategies, providing insights on market trends and labor costs to facilitate effective financial planning and a robust employee compensation framework.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EEOC, L&I, FLSA), offering guidance to managers on medical accommodation requests and leading annual HR processes, including payroll audits.
  • Manage the processing of workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to align financial policies with legal standards, minimizing risks.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the Collective Bargaining Agreement with relevant unions.
  • Lead benefits strategy and serve as the main contact for staff inquiries regarding benefits, collaborating with finance on budgeting and expense tracking.
  • Guide the development and communication of employee policies, ensuring consistent enforcement across departments.
  • Provide leadership in advancing racial equity and social justice initiatives within Tech9.
  • Maintain proactive communication with staff and leadership, providing regular updates on HR activities and policies.
  • Oversee a comprehensive employee performance management system, including handling complaints, performance improvement plans, and terminations, serving as a resource for leadership.
  • Supervise third-party consultants supporting the HR program as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and assist with HRMS inquiries.
  • Stay informed about changes in HR industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources management.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR regulations and best practices.
  • 3+ years of experience in process documentation and review.
  • 3+ years of HRMS/HRIS administration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits management.
  • 2+ years of experience in union agreement management.
  • Inclusive and progressive leadership approach.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • High level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity.
  • Experience with ADP and/or EddyHR is a plus.
  • Experience in developing performance evaluation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of compensation strategies.
  • Experience in anti-racism training or initiatives.
  • History of building positive relationships with labor unions.
  • Previous experience in technology or related sectors is advantageous.

Work Environment: This is a full-time exempt position, primarily based onsite, with the possibility of remote work up to 2 days per week.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for this role include regular communication with employees and external parties, prolonged periods of sitting, and daily computer use.
