About the Role

Baptist Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Scheduler to join our team in OP Centralized Scheduling. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, and registering patients in our scheduling system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments
  • Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information
  • Register patients and enter data into scheduling system
  • Meet individual quality metrics in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Complete and pass the Patient Access training course
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole
  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications)
