Workload:

Appointments are typically made for one or more quarters of the academic year, including fall, winter, and spring, with potential opportunities during the Summer Session.

Position Description:
College Nine at the University of California, Santa Cruz, is seeking applications for a continuous pool of lecturers who may be appointed to instruct enhancement courses under the guidance of the College Nine Provost. A comprehensive list of available courses and their descriptions can be found in the university catalog.

These courses provide students with the chance to engage in small, seminar-style classes at the collegiate level, designed to supplement general education requirements and disciplinary studies. The enhancement courses are centered around the theme of International and Global Perspectives.

Selected candidates will contribute to this thematic focus and may have the opportunity to design or assist in the development of new enhancement courses. While applicants may have a primary discipline, they should be adept at working within an interdisciplinary framework and draw from expertise in one or more of the following areas: humanities, arts, social sciences, or life sciences.

Qualifications:
Applicants with the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
1. Proven experience working effectively with a diverse student population.
2. Familiarity with contemporary theories and research related to international and global perspectives.
3. A Master's degree or completion of at least one year of a Ph.D. program.
4. A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the university level.

Basic Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a B.A./B.S. degree or higher (or an equivalent foreign degree) at the time of application.
