Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Academic Instructor to teach a graduate-level statistics course at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, course preparation, and student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the Multivariate Statistics course (ED 216A) to graduate-level students in the Education and Clinical, Counseling, and School Psychology graduate programs.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and exams that align with course objectives.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students through office hours and other means.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay current with developments in multivariate statistics and its applications in education and psychology.
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching statistics courses at the graduate level.
- Strong knowledge of multivariate statistical methods and their applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in a minority-serving institution.
- Knowledge of culturally sustaining pedagogical practices.
- Ability to develop and implement innovative teaching approaches.
