Position Overview

This role is centered on delivering clinical and medical support services to patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Executing medical tasks related to surgical procedures, including interventional pain management and other surgical interventions.
• Ensuring a secure environment for patients undergoing surgical operations.
• Utilizing specialized knowledge and skills acquired through vocational training and experience in a clinical technologist capacity.

Work Schedule

Part-Time, 24 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting a variety of surgical procedures in a professional manner.
  • Preparing and selecting necessary supplies and equipment for surgical cases.
  • Assisting in surgeries by organizing instruments for the surgeon, participating in surgical counts, and performing related tasks under the surgeon's guidance.
  • Supporting the circulator by positioning patients, obtaining required items during surgery, and aiding in room turnover activities.
  • Operating surgical equipment as required.
  • Engaging in operating room activities focused on quality improvement, ongoing education, orientation of new staff, and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Completion of an Associate's degree or Surgical Technician Certification coursework.
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
  • LPN with Surgical Technician Certification/Experience is also acceptable.
