OR Technician

About the Role

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled OR Technician to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all scrubbing responsibilities in compliance with HMH policies and AORN Recommended Standards of Practice.
• Display an understanding of surgical procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Maintain aseptic and sterile field management, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, preparing the sterile field, and identifying breaks in sterility.
• Assist the surgical team in room turnover and preparation for the next surgical procedure.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, preceptorship of new team members, and other activities that will improve patient outcomes.
• Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited education program for Surgical Technologists.
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully complete orientation and all associated competencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) unless exempt per NJ Surgical Technology Certification Law.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year (1) of surgical scrubbing experience in an acute care setting.
