About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Labor and Delivery Surgical Technician to join our team at Lowell General Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures in Labor and Delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and prepare the necessary supplies and equipment for surgical cases.
  • Participate in surgical procedures by organizing instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and performing related activities under the direction of the surgeon.
  • Assist the circulator with positioning, obtaining needed items during surgery, and assisting in room turnover activities.
  • Participate in Labor and Delivery activities related to quality improvement, continuing education, orientation of new personnel, and emergency preparedness.
  • Maintain current knowledge in areas of surgical aseptic technique, perioperative procedures in Labor and Delivery, and pre-operative patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility, completion of a training program for surgical technology in the military, or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech Program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
