Role Responsibilities
The Surgical Technician will operate under the guidance of the surgical team, ensuring a sterile environment and assisting in various surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining strict aseptic technique during all surgical procedures.
- Preparing and organizing surgical instruments and equipment for operations.
- Assisting the surgeon by providing necessary tools and performing counts with the circulating nurse.
- Managing intraoperative medications and surgical specimens according to established protocols.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities within the Operating Room.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a surgical technologist or completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Less than one year of healthcare experience is acceptable.
