Position Overview:

As a Senior Project Manager in the Waste Management Division at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will oversee project teams to execute engineering tasks, including airspace and earthwork volume assessments, preparing and reviewing technical documentation, designing stormwater management systems, leachate collection systems, and landfill gas collection systems, conducting geotechnical evaluations, and developing landfill grading plans along with project specifications.

Your role will entail direct responsibility for crafting proposals, managing project budgets and timelines, supervising engineering personnel, and ensuring quality control. You will engage with clients, contractors, and local/state regulatory bodies, influencing the project from initial concepts and design stages through regulatory reviews, bidding processes, and construction phases.

Additionally, you will collaborate with management teams to mentor and support the professional growth of staff, including conducting annual performance evaluations and setting development objectives. Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience;
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline), with a Master's degree preferred;
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure, with registration in MA or the ability to obtain it;
  • Proficiency in technical software and Civil Engineering technologies, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software, and geotechnical modeling tools;
  • Established relationships within the Solid Waste sector;
  • Capability to manage project portfolios exceeding $500,000 in annual professional fee revenues;
  • Experience in developing service scopes and budgets (proposals), with a proven track record of managing projects profitably;
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a professional context;
  • Active participation in client- and professional development-oriented organizations;
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), with experience in liaising with staff, clients, contractors, and regulatory officials;
  • Adeptness in coordinating the regulatory agency review process.
