Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and mentor a team of engineers focused on NPI projects, ensuring alignment with manufacturing engineering best practices.
  • Oversee project timelines and manufacturing process plans, addressing complex challenges and implementing optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Establish and uphold engineering standards and guidelines to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Engage with senior management to discuss business opportunities and potential challenges impacting operational success.
  • Conduct thorough Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A) evaluations for new product designs, providing detailed cost assessments to product development teams.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, presenting progress and results at technical reviews.
  • Manage team performance through recruitment, training, and development initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate business and technical risks throughout project lifecycles.
  • Encourage and empower team members to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensure comprehensive cost-effective manufacturing strategies are developed, including supplier selection and sourcing decisions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies with external partners to assess and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate effectively within multi-functional teams to innovate and implement practical design solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and operational strategies related to medical devices.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree such as an MS in Engineering or an MBA is preferred.

Experience and Skills:
Required:
  • At least six years of relevant professional experience in manufacturing engineering and new product introductions.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing technical projects within regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in three-dimensional modeling and engineering calculations.
  • Proven ability to innovate and adapt in project execution with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred:
  • Experience with process validation and improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and GMP standards.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.

• This position may require occasional travel for business purposes.
