Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent manufacturer in the capital equipment sector, focuses on the design and production of systems utilized in the food and beverage industry. They are in search of an Engineering Project Specialist to execute both 2D and 3D designs while supporting the lead Project Manager with various project management tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a background in manufacturing, particularly in machinery or equipment manufacturing, or metal fabrication, along with strong 2D and 3D modeling skills and a readiness to undertake assigned project management responsibilities and advance in this role.

Key Duties:

  • Engage in the design and development of equipment and associated systems.
  • Create 2D and 3D designs for sheet metal, components, assemblies, layouts, etc.
  • Assume delegated project management responsibilities from the Lead Project Managers.
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning team to deliver the completed system.
  • Act as a liaison for clients and collaborate with vendors; coordinating with manufacturing, fabrication, assembly teams, and external suppliers as necessary (sheet metal, enclosures, etc.).
  • Manage project plans, schedules, and budgets related to project management.
  • Coordinate with production and manufacturing to ensure adherence to project timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or CAD Certification with over 5 years of relevant experience.
  • OR; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Drafting, Design, or Engineering, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience with Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects, Operating Expenditure projects, or the installation of new production lines is preferred.
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D modeling, ideally with Solidworks, though not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time.
