Position Overview

Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is seeking candidates for the role of Program Coordinator for Grant Initiatives. This full-time position is funded through grants and is designed to last for a significant duration. The selected candidate will serve as the Project Director for a statewide initiative focused on juvenile justice planning and assessment, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).

The incumbent will collaborate closely with IUP and PCCD personnel, along with various stakeholders and partners, to develop, initiate, and execute a comprehensive assessment and planning process. This initiative aims to create a strategic framework for enhancing care and opportunities for youth involved in the justice system and those at risk, particularly in underserved areas. A key deliverable of this role is the formulation of a detailed statewide plan based on thorough cross-system data analysis, which will provide actionable recommendations for funding, policy, and programming to guide youth services across the Commonwealth.

8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in behavioral or social sciences, or a related field relevant to the position. A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in strategic planning and facilitation for large organizations engaged in extensive stakeholder engagement and policy initiatives. Knowledge of juvenile justice, behavioral health, and youth prevention issues. Preferred Qualifications
A Graduate Degree in behavioral or social sciences, or a related field relevant to the position. Experience in leading strategic planning, facilitation, and project management for Pennsylvania state agencies. In-depth knowledge and analytical skills within Pennsylvania's juvenile justice and youth service sectors. Proven ability to conduct quantitative analysis and utilize findings for public policy development. Extensive experience in managing projects for large organizations or initiatives. Familiarity with federal, state, and local systems to provide key decision-makers with relevant analysis and recommendations. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings in various formats.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position are primarily office-based, although occasional physical demands may arise. The incumbent must possess the following abilities:

Capability to travel to various locations for meetings and training as needed. Proficient in both oral and written communication to effectively issue, receive, and execute instructions, as well as convey information to colleagues and the public. Competence in using standard office equipment such as telephones, calculators, copiers, and computers. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying various weights. Skill in operating office equipment, which may involve bending, stretching, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Provide assistance and support to both internal and external stakeholders.
