Job Description

DNOVA is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Afterschool Program Coordinator to oversee our innovative afterschool initiatives. This role involves managing a comprehensive community learning program aimed at enhancing educational and social outcomes for students.

The Afterschool Program Coordinator will be responsible for orchestrating various scheduled activities, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and facilitating collaboration among site leaders and program providers. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering student engagement and supporting family involvement in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, including maintaining appropriate ratios and necessary postings.
  • Organize and manage the preparation of afternoon snacks, including ordering and cleanup procedures.
  • Prepare sign-in sheets for each group leader and maintain organization within the school office.
  • Keep accurate records of staff and student files for licensing purposes.
  • Facilitate and execute scheduled programming effectively.
  • Coordinate with site leaders and programming providers to enhance program delivery.
  • Track attendance and document hours for participants.
  • Monitor staff hours and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Be available to assist at other sites as needed to meet staffing requirements.
  • Oversee visitor management in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, ensuring responsibilities are managed in your absence.
  • Adhere to all staff handbook protocols, including dress code and communication standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance program effectiveness.

Work Environment:

  • School settings, gymnasiums, and outdoor spaces.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Preferred experience with program management and educational coordination.
  • Ability to engage with diverse community populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in grant writing and fundraising is a plus.
