Position Overview
Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is seeking candidates for the role of Program Coordinator for Grant Initiatives. This full-time position is funded through grants and is designed to last for a duration of up to 18 months. The selected candidate will serve as the Project Director and Continuum Coordinator for a statewide initiative focused on juvenile justice planning and assessment, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
The individual in this role will engage closely with both IUP and PCCD personnel, along with various stakeholders and partners, to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive assessment and planning strategy. This initiative aims to create a new framework for establishing a continuum of care and opportunities for youth involved in the justice system or those at risk, particularly in regions with limited resources and significant needs. A primary objective of this role is to assist in delivering a comprehensive statewide plan, which will be informed by thorough cross-system data analysis and will provide actionable funding, policy, and programmatic recommendations to various state agencies.
Work Schedule:Monday - Friday
8:00am - 4:30pm
Qualifications Required
- A Bachelor's Degree in behavioral or social sciences, or a related field relevant to the position.
- A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in strategic planning and facilitation support for large organizations engaged in extensive stakeholder engagement and policy initiatives.
- Knowledge of issues pertaining to juvenile justice, behavioral health, and youth prevention strategies.
- A Graduate Degree in behavioral or social sciences, or a related field relevant to the position.
- Experience in leading strategic planning, facilitation support, and project management for or on behalf of Pennsylvania state agencies.
- In-depth knowledge and analytical skills within Pennsylvania's juvenile justice and youth service sectors.
- Proven expertise in conducting quantitative analyses and applying findings to develop public policy reports.
- Extensive experience in managing projects for large-scale organizations or initiatives.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local systems that provide key decision-makers with relevant analyses and recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present findings in various formats, including written, oral, and electronic.
Essential Responsibilities
The work environment for this position is a standard office setting, although there may be occasional periods of heavy exertion. The incumbent must possess the following abilities:
- Capability to travel to various field locations and meeting sites as required.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication to effectively convey instructions and information to colleagues and the public.
- Ability to operate common office equipment, including telephones, calculators, copiers, and computers.
- Competence in performing manual tasks such as lifting and carrying items of varying weights.
- Skill in using office equipment, which may involve bending, kneeling, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Providing assistance and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
