Role Overview:
An autonomy engineer on the Hivemind Systems Integration team will play a crucial role in merging autonomy libraries, command applications, and developer tooling into a unified product applicable across diverse scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a cohesive autonomy product (Hivemind) regularly, encompassing core autonomy libraries, command and control interfaces, and SDKs.
- Facilitate integration among various Hivemind product teams and assist with implementation as necessary.
- Diagnose, prioritize, and resolve issues impacting the entire autonomy framework.
- Identify performance constraints and devise effective solutions.
- Integrate new autonomy features, conduct end-to-end testing, and release software packages consistently.
- Develop tools to streamline regular release processes.
- Create and incorporate new simulation and playback functionalities into standard developer workflows, including faster-than-realtime simulations and scalable environments.
- Collaborate with platform teams to deploy the autonomy stack on new hardware.
- Assist in integrating third-party components.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve bugs reported by downstream users.
- Work alongside autonomy teams to address complex issues requiring in-depth solutions.

Required Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or 4 years with a PhD; or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience with C++14 and later versions.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with git or other modern version control systems.
- Experience in large, complex, distributed systems.
- A proven track record of hard work, trustworthiness, high standards, and kindness towards others.
- Willingness to step outside of comfort zones to assist teammates.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with C++17 or newer.
- Ability to analyze data to enhance system design and performance.
- Hands-on debugging experience with complex software and autonomy systems.
- Familiarity with robotics frameworks, such as ROS, and simulators.
- Knowledge of cloud-based systems, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CUDA, streaming video, hardware integration, and networking.
- Insight into a broad spectrum of autonomy products.
