Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team of skilled professionals.

This role will be based in Northridge, CA.

The Systems Engineer will engage in collaboration and coordination with various engineering design teams to deliver innovative and technical solutions to complex challenges in establishing and managing the technical baseline in support of review milestones.

The selected candidate will undertake tasks in systems engineering functions.

This position necessitates a systems-oriented mindset and a comprehensive understanding of the complete development life-cycle processes that consider technical, scheduling, and budgetary constraints.

Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership qualities while coordinating with multiple teams and managing tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, maintain, and implement test plans for products, from components to sub-assemblies to complete vehicle systems.

2. Operate and/or assist with intricate testing systems and specialized testing equipment.

3. Plan detailed operations based on digital models, blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other design releases.

4. Assist in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.


5. Support updates to Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Change Notices (ICNs), technical manuals, technical specifications, and system/subsystem documentation for the customer/end user.

6. Generate manufacturing documentation, such as Acceptance Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Assembly Instructions, based on system/subsystem designs.


7. Participate in various technical meetings, including Material Review Boards (MRB), Change Control Board (CCB), and Engineering Review Board (ERB), to understand the latest configurations of the system/subsystem integration and designs and assess impact.


8. Analyze and review data to ensure hardware is functioning as expected, utilizing numerical data analysis tools to interpret test results.

9. Compose test reports that encompass test results and conclusions derived from the collected data.


10. Provide systems engineering support as part of troubleshooting teams, leveraging systems engineering expertise across multiple domains (e.g., RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Material Properties).

11. Track individual metrics, maintain a notebook, and capture lessons learned and undocumented process details.

Basic Qualifications:


1. Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of experience in engineering; OR a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of experience in engineering.

2. Familiarity with working with electronic equipment.

3. An active in-scope DoD Secret clearance.

4. The ability to obtain program access (PAR).

This PAR must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

5. Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Physics; Master's Degree.

2. Experience working on military aircraft, weapons systems, or spacecraft systems.

3. Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements.

4. Experience in system architecture, CONOPs, or model-based system engineering.

5. Experience in ICD development and integration.

6. Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.

7. Proven ability to deliver technical presentations to stakeholders.

8. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, technical specifications, and operating procedures.

9. Ability to interpret electrical schematic diagrams and mechanical drawings.

10. MBSE and Agile Systems Engineering Experience.

11. Experience with DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA.

12. Familiarity with the RCCA process.

13. Prior experience working in an AS9100 environment.

14. Experience working with RF or Electronics sensor systems.

15. Experience in configuration management processes using a product lifecycle management tool, e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, StarTeam.

Salary Range:
$68,100 - $102,100


The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
