Job Description

Westland Distributing is a leading wholesale distribution company in the Manufactured Home parts industry. We are seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive profitable sales growth in our Sacramento, CA Branch by maximizing revenue from repeat customers and sourcing new active accounts.

The ideal candidate will develop and execute a territory sales plan, combining in-person visits with key accounts, regular prospecting, and collaboration with the Branch Manager and Counter Sales staff to maximize revenue opportunities. The successful candidate will possess expert-level knowledge of our manufactured housing offerings, the local market, and our customer base to support consistent attainment of sales targets.

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for:

  • Calls on current accounts and prospects in person to generate sales and develop positive working relationships with decision-makers.
  • Creates a market plan to build relationships and sell opportunities with customers and prospects that fit well with our products and services.
  • Develops an organized plan for covering the territory, scheduling appointments in advance to ensure productive use of time.
  • Uses internal tracking tools to document sales appointments, leads, opportunities, and follow-up information in a timely manner.
  • Enhances and improves product, industry, and sales process knowledge, providing training to new customers and prospects on the value of Westland products and services.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and internal Westland departments to resolve issues and answer questions.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to the Branch Manager and General Manager regarding new product needs, customer feedback, and market conditions.
  • Participates in developing the sales forecast for the territory and executes action plans to achieve or exceed sales, margins, and market share objectives.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of proven performance in an Outside Sales role.
  • Construction/building materials/manufactured housing experience a plus.
  • Outgoing relationship builder with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to create a territory sales plan and execute against it.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Sage 100.
  • Strong work ethic with a desire to grow professionally and take on new challenges.
  • Solution-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Demonstrated success in a comparable sales role.
  • Ability to learn a variety of product knowledge quickly.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills with the ability to close the sale.
  • Strong organizational, reasoning, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
  • A self-motivated individual who is focused and can handle multiple priorities successfully.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be a team player committed to the success of the business.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight to adequately call on accounts in person.
  • Be a professional representative of the company and maintain confidentiality.
