  • Engage in product innovation for Additive Manufacturing (AM), particularly focusing on aerospace applications and equipment component maintenance utilizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.
  • Responsibilities encompass reverse engineering, CAD modeling, 2D drafting with a strong emphasis on GD&T application, as well as finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation for designated components.
  • Oversee all phases of product development, collaborating with diverse teams to ensure successful manufacturing and qualification testing until project completion.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials, mentorship, process improvement initiatives, and team support activities.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in product development
  • 8+ years of proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software, preferably SolidWorks
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in 2D drawing creation, including GD&T application
  • Experience in simulation and FEA analysis utilizing tools like ANSYS
  • Knowledge of reverse engineering, various manufacturing methodologies, strong organizational skills, and effective interpersonal communication
  • Self-driven, collaborative, with exceptional communication abilities
  • Experience in job routers and Bill of Materials (BOM) generation for part manufacturing
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to research contract stipulations

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of FEA analysis experience using ANSYS for both static and dynamic assessments
  • Experience in Additive Manufacturing, failure analysis, Model Based Definition generation, and training development
  • Practical experience in reverse engineering, working in ISO or AS9100 certified environments, and engaging with diverse communities
