Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and basic troubleshooting for current operations, leading root cause investigations, and developing and implementing improvement plans to achieve business plan goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and reduced operating costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist manufacturing by providing support and basic troubleshooting for current operations.
  • Lead root cause investigations to determine the source of process variance.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans to achieve business plan goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and reduced operating costs.
  • Create processes for precision machined components.
  • Lead or assist with quoting.
  • Lead and be accountable for manufacturing aspects of new product development and introduction, including transition from design to manufacturing through ramp up, product costing, supplier involvement on part design, scheduling prototype and pilot runs, and management of parts orders for new design.
  • Work to improve the knowledge base of the company by maintaining a current and deep knowledge of manufacturing tools and methods.
  • Support the development and dissemination of lean manufacturing knowledge and techniques throughout the organization.
  • Lead employee training and conduct Kaizen events at the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Prepare business cases for the purchase of new production equipment.
  • Develop specifications and coordinate the bid process.
  • Lead the installation, debugging, employee training, and ramp up of new capital equipment.
  • Ensure safety procedures, work instructions, and other company policies reflect the changing needs of the business.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related discipline beneficial. Equivalent work experience satisfactory. Five plus years in a machining environment required.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T and metrology required.
  • Experience with manufacturing methods and tools such as Lean, SPC, 6 Sigma.
  • CAD and ERP experience beneficial.
  • Ability to lead Kaizen events, conducting time studies, and coaching line operators.
  • Ability to meet and communicate effectively with vendors, employees, and the general public in a professional manner.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel and Word.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, time management skills; ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Background in CNC or Toolmaking.
