Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with expertise in precision machining, CNC operations, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading root cause investigations, developing and implementing improvement plans, and ensuring safety procedures and work instructions reflect the changing needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist manufacturing by providing support and basic troubleshooting for current operations.
  • Lead root cause investigations to determine the source of process variance.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans to achieve business plan goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and reduced operating costs.
  • Create processes for precision machined components.
  • Lead or assist with quoting.
  • Lead and be accountable for manufacturing aspects of new product development and introduction.
  • Improve the knowledge base of the company by maintaining a current and deep knowledge of manufacturing tools and methods.
  • Support the development and dissemination of lean manufacturing knowledge and techniques throughout the organization.
  • Prepare business cases for the purchase of new production equipment.
  • Develop specifications and coordinate the bid process.
  • Lead the installation, debugging, employee training, and ramp-up of new capital equipment.
  • Ensure safety procedures, work instructions, and other company policies reflect the changing needs of the business.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related discipline beneficial.
  • Five plus years in a machining environment required.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T and metrology required.
  • Experience with manufacturing methods and tools such as Lean, SPC, 6 Sigma.
  • CAD and ERP experience beneficial.
  • Ability to lead Kaizen events, conducting time studies, and coaching line operators.
  • Ability to meet and communicate effectively with vendors, employees, and the general public in a professional manner.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel and Word.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, time management skills; ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Background in CNC or Toolmaking.
