MEP Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Coordinator to join our team at Pkaza LLC. As a MEP Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the field activities associated with our projects, including supervision of electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage liaison with primary client, A/E firm, Owner's Rep firm, Construction Project Manager, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate construction activities at the data center job site.
  • Establish and manage critical work environment project objectives, performance standards, planning, and Methods of Procedure to minimize human error factors.
  • Provide leadership of all field-related MEP mission-critical work activities and coordinate with Construction Project Manager and Subcontractors for proper execution.
  • Keep all relevant parties informed of project progress throughout the life of the project.
  • Detailed understanding of all MEP systems, including size-up, costs, scheduling, quality control, system start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and more.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including progress billing, rental equipment, income, and expenses, to protect the company's interest and maintain good relationships with clients.
  • Ensure project site and company assets are secure and maintain a safe and respectful working environment by implementing programs for safety, OSHA, EEO, risk management, training, and quality control.
  • Confirm extra charges from subcontractors/suppliers are reasonable and work is correctly executed, coordinating with project managers for approval.
  • Facilitate weekly project progress and safety meetings with subcontractor representatives and coordinate upcoming work to be accomplished.
  • Ensure project closeout process is finalized, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the client.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of commercial/critical facilities MEP construction experience, with project size, scope, and complexity being a significant factor.
  • Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience is a huge plus.
  • Detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems, including integrated testing, MOPs/SOPs of installation, functionality, and troubleshooting.
  • Budget responsibilities must be in excess of $10 million to $50 million or more to be considered.
  • Experience in directing and/or supporting the commissioning effort.
  • Demonstrates solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products.
  • Previous administrative experience managing change orders, billing, creating reports, and more.
  • Construction/Engineering/Architectural Degree is a plus.
