Job Overview:

The Boeing Company is actively seeking a Lead Software Engineer to become a vital member of the Information Technology (IT) Product Support and Services team. This role is available in multiple locations.

Team Focus:

This team is responsible for managing a wide array of applications and environments that support Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) initiatives. As part of the IT Product Support and Services Program Support Development Team, you will engage in Agile software development, collaborating on high-value programs to create IT applications and solutions for military platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and execute the design, programming, testing, implementation, and documentation of intricate computing applications and software architectures.
  • Lead the analysis of user processes to define and gather application requirements.
  • Develop and compile complex code based on documented designs or create application architectures that integrate software and delivery subsystems.
  • Enhance or upgrade complex applications to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Identify and propose improvements to existing systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex programming or application architecture issues.
  • Construct database objects and analyze information to determine architecture specifications and application security needs.
  • Review system performance and suggest enhancements.
  • Work independently while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Work Environment:

This position is hybrid, requiring some onsite work as determined by the hiring team.

Security Clearance:

This role necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, C++, Python).
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and Oracle database management.
  • 5+ years of experience in gathering and assessing user requirements for application integration.
  • 5+ years of experience in application development across the software lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software, database, and server testing and optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience in system integration development.
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps.

Typical Experience:

Typically, 9 or more years of relevant work experience or military experience is expected. An advanced degree is preferred but not mandatory.
