Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Test Engineer to become a vital member of our Test Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting, developing, and executing testing strategies that ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of the electrical components within our energy storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage comprehensive testing strategies for electronic and safety systems across all design phases, including Battery Management Systems (BMS), cell-level sensing mechanisms, and system sensors.
- Lead intricate problem-solving initiatives and root cause analyses for issues identified during testing of both test equipment and units under evaluation, driving resolution efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create test cases and procedures that encompass a variety of operating conditions and use scenarios.
- Actively participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) meetings to highlight concerns and develop validation plans.
- Analyze test data to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for enhancing electronic component performance and reliability.
- Produce detailed test reports that summarize findings, conclusions, and recommendations for design improvements or corrective actions.
- Propel continuous improvement initiatives to refine testing processes, boost efficiency, and elevate the overall quality of our groundbreaking iron-air battery technology.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electronics testing, ideally within the energy storage sector or a related field.
- Proficiency in developing test protocols and validation plans, along with the ability to dissect problems to identify root causes.
- Familiarity with UL or ISO standards for electronics testing and experience in establishing internal standards.
- Experience with data acquisition hardware such as Dewesoft, Keysight, or NI.
- Competence in using Python, SQL, MATLAB, or similar software for data analysis.
- Knowledge of standard communication protocols like CAN, RS232, LXI, or equivalent.
- Skills in programming and controlling test equipment using Python, ladder logic, Arduino IDE, or similar tools.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Strong collaborative skills across multidisciplinary teams, with a proactive approach to gathering stakeholder input.
