Job Overview:

The Boeing Company is in search of a Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer to become a vital part of our engineering and architectural team. This role involves close collaboration with our Cyber Systems and IT partners to design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructures that facilitate software development for defense products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and sustain cloud environments that support product software engineering.
  • Lead the strategic planning for transitioning mission systems to cloud-based solutions.
  • Work alongside IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the secure and efficient deployment of cloud tools and environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to plan and execute software factories and associated toolchains.
  • Engage with various programs to promote knowledge sharing and ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Conduct assessments and strategic discussions regarding cloud technologies.
  • Ensure seamless integration of DevSecOps practices within cloud environments.

Work Environment:

This position requires full-time onsite presence at the designated location.

Security and Compliance:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in designing cloud architectures utilizing AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with network layer cloud technologies.
  • Proficient in infrastructure as code practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Linux systems.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud security and monitoring tools such as IAM, GuardDuty, or equivalent.
  • Background in software development, systems engineering, or integration testing for mission systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the CI/CD process, including debugging and software tool integration.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, agile environment.
  • Knowledge of full stack/microservice infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices and security frameworks.

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel may be necessary, typically less than 10%.
