Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer within our Data Commerce Solutions team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of data engineering and web application projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing Fiserv's Enterprise Data Commerce Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications utilizing Java for back-end development and React or Angular for front-end interfaces, ensuring high standards of code quality and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  • Create responsive user interfaces with modern front-end frameworks, ensuring an optimal user experience.
  • Write efficient Java code to develop scalable back-end systems, including APIs and services.
  • Integrate front-end components with back-end systems to ensure seamless functionality and performance.
  • Manage database structures using SQL or NoSQL technologies, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the delivery of high-quality applications.
  • Engage in code reviews and collaborative programming sessions to foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in Java and front-end development, applying new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of development processes, tools, and practices.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in the industry, with a minimum of 6 years in developing large-scale web applications, along with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Full Stack Developer, with strong skills in Java and either React or Angular, and a solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficient in Java and associated frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot) for building scalable back-end systems with RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of database architectures, with experience in high-scale databases and exposure to NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a knack for debugging complex web applications.
  • Experience in conducting code reviews and striving for improvements in software quality.
  • Familiarity with PCI Data and collaboration with data scientists, along with knowledge of data governance and security principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the banking or financial sector.
  • Advanced degrees or relevant certifications.
  • Familiarity with multiple front-end frameworks.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
