Position Overview
The Director of Residences is a pivotal role within Accor Hotels, responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of both Housekeeping and Front Office Operations. This position reports directly to the General Manager and ensures that the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation are upheld throughout the Residence Club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and uphold Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards, ensuring consistency in residential operations.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff in Housekeeping, Front Office, and Owner Services Departments.
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain cleanliness and address repairs and replacements as necessary.
- Coordinate with the Chief Engineer to schedule preventative maintenance and ensure timely entry of work orders into the service platform.
- Oversee daily communications and performance management for supervisors and team members.
- Evaluate the performance of Residence Managers and the Owner Services Team, providing timely feedback and coaching.
- Establish SMART goals for both management and line-level staff to enhance operational efficiency.
- Champion health and safety protocols within Housekeeping and Front Office Operations, ensuring staff are well-trained on safety practices.
- Ensure exceptional guest service standards are consistently exceeded, utilizing various feedback platforms for measurement.
- Maintain compliance with PCI standards in Front Office Operations and ensure staff training on these protocols.
- Manage the employee uniform program, ensuring high standards of hygiene and conduct are maintained.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires in collaboration with Talent & Culture and Operations managers.
- Ensure the proper handling of lost and found items in accordance with company policy.
- Monitor departmental labor costs and productivity, ensuring effective scheduling and vacation planning.
- Manage departmental expenses, ensuring alignment with budget forecasts.
- Facilitate monthly purchasing in accordance with the property's purchasing policy.
- Foster positive relationships with external contractors and vendors.
- Support sales initiatives by liaising with Sales teams and ensuring prospective buyer details are met.
- Assist in recruitment and training efforts to cultivate an engaged work culture.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Director of Finance on budgetary controls and quality assessments.
- Participate in executive committee meetings and provide updates on departmental performance.
- Lead departmental meetings with Operations Leaders to ensure alignment on objectives.
- Engage with external stakeholders professionally, including suppliers and competitors.
- Promote sustainability initiatives within the property and report on progress.
- Review financial reports and provide timely commentary to stakeholders.
- Oversee the quarterly service tracking process in partnership with the Finance Team.
- Participate in board meetings and assist with documentation as needed.
- Lead sub-committees related to property management and oversee capital projects.
- Support the front office team as needed during peak times.
- Accept additional management responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.
