Position Overview:

The Human Rights Campaign is seeking temporary Community Engagement Coordinators to support our initiatives during the upcoming election season. These Coordinators will work closely with HRC leadership to mobilize members and supporters, as well as Equality Voters, in key areas to advocate for our endorsed candidates. This is a temporary, full-time role, eligible for employer-sponsored health benefits, concluding after the election period, with potential for extensions based on election-related needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilization of Supporters:
    • Engage HRC members and allies in election activities through outreach methods such as phone calls, text messaging, and social media.
    • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers in various campaign activities, including phone banking, canvassing, and public speaking engagements.
  • Management of Outreach Activities:
    • Organize and oversee regular volunteer outreach sessions to connect with voters and promote participation in the electoral process.
  • Collaboration with Local Leaders:
    • Coordinate with HRC staff to ensure local volunteer leaders are well-informed and actively involved in campaign efforts.
  • Partnership Engagement:
    • Collaborate with partner organizations to enhance volunteer engagement and ensure alignment on campaign activities.
    • Maintain positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Reporting and Communication:
    • Participate in regular campaign meetings and provide updates on volunteer activities and voter outreach efforts.
    • Compile reports to track engagement metrics and volunteer contributions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and advocacy.
  • Proven experience in volunteer recruitment and organizing, ideally demonstrated through previous campaign involvement.
  • Ability to manage tasks based on metrics and familiarity with data management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for building relationships within the community.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in voter outreach and canvassing is a significant advantage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Access to reliable transportation for campaign activities.
  • Valid driver's license and consistent access to a vehicle.
