Position Title: Community Engagement Organizer.Reports To: Director of Community Outreach.Type/Level: Full-Time/Exempt.Job Type: In Person.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred. Strong ability to communicate effectively with both youth and adults while fostering grassroots "systems change" coalitions. Previous experience in youth organizing, community mobilization, leadership development, and/or popular education is highly desirable. Proven ability to mentor, develop, and empower youth within the community. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Access and Microsoft Word, is preferred.

Strong writing skills to prepare various written materials. Adept interpersonal skills to effectively engage with staff and the public.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Facilitate the development and coordination of youth and adult leaders in targeted areas to enhance leadership skills, youth organizing capabilities, and substance use prevention initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with parents, youth, and partner organizations.
  • Support organizing efforts among college students at local higher education institutions.
  • Coordinate member involvement in external events and mobilizations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of advocacy campaigns.
  • Collaborate with evaluators to conduct program assessments and data collection.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops and training sessions for youth and adults.
  • Provide support to the Coalition Leadership team as required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Flexibility in working hours is necessary.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.

REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
  • Knowledge and/or experience in community organizing or related community-based work.
  • Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:
  • A minimum of one year of demonstrated experience working with community-based organizations, faith-based groups, educational institutions, and/or civic organizations.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new skills in a professional environment may be considered in lieu of specific experience.

Licenses or certificates:
  • A valid unrestricted driver's license is required.

Expected Salary Range:
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $30,000 - $35,000.
