Position Overview:

The Human Rights Campaign is seeking temporary Community Engagement Coordinators nationwide to support our initiatives during the upcoming election season. These coordinators will report to HRC campaign leadership and will work to mobilize HRC members, supporters, and Equality Voters in key states and legislative districts to secure victories for our endorsed candidates. This is a temporary, full-time role, with employer-paid medical insurance, concluding after the election period, with potential for extensions related to election activities. We have multiple openings in various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilization of HRC Members and Supporters:
    • Engage HRC members and allies in election efforts for endorsed candidates through outreach via phone, text, and social media.
    • Recruit, train, and guide HRC members and allies to participate in volunteer opportunities, including voter outreach and campaign events.
  • Management of Outreach Activities:
    • Plan and oversee regular volunteer phone and text outreach sessions to identify pro-equality voters and encourage participation in the electoral process.
  • Collaboration with Local HRC Leadership:
    • Coordinate with HRC staff to ensure local volunteer leaders are informed and engaged in available opportunities.
  • Engagement with Partner Organizations:
    • Facilitate communication with like-minded organizations to ensure their staff and volunteers are aware of and can participate in volunteer activities.
    • Maintain positive relationships with HRC's community partners.
  • Reporting Duties:
    • Participate in regular campaign meetings and calls as required.
    • Prepare reports to track volunteer activities and voter outreach efforts.
    • Ensure accurate data entry in tracking systems.
  • Additional Responsibilities as Assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to LGBTQ+ equality.
  • Proven skills in volunteer recruitment and organizing, demonstrated through prior experience in campaign settings.
  • Ability to manage metrics and familiarity with data tracking tools; experience with relevant software is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with local supporters and influencers within the LGBTQ community and broader progressive movements.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in voter outreach, including phone banking or canvassing, is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Access to reliable transportation for regional events.
  • Valid driver's license and consistent access to a vehicle.
