Position Summary:

Acara Solutions, a leading staffing firm in the aerospace sector, is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to become a valued member of our esteemed aerospace manufacturing client. This role offers a competitive salary range of $139K - $161K and requires a commitment to working onsite.

The Senior Test Engineer is a pivotal contributor who operates with a high degree of independence, employing creativity and established methodologies to execute engineering responsibilities in the research, planning, design, and development of products for the Aerospace or Electronics industries.

This role involves specialization in intricate technical issues, collaborating within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, and managing multiple independent tasks effectively. The engineer will work closely with various functional teams to meet product performance and cost objectives, ensuring quality and manufacturability are integral to the design process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to company and regulatory standards to maintain a safe operational environment.
  • Engaging in continuous process improvement initiatives, including Kaizen and 5S practices, to foster an organized and efficient workplace.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in technical communication, both verbal and written, for reports, presentations, and analyses across the organization.
  • Defining and understanding product and process requirements to facilitate product development, sustaining efforts, and R&D.
  • Planning, estimating, prioritizing, and managing work activities to align with project timelines and budgets.
  • Producing comprehensive design and development work that meets customer specifications and company standards for schedule, cost, quality, and reliability.
  • Utilizing effective problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for technical challenges.
  • Generating and reviewing product development documentation, including proposals and technical reports, to fulfill customer and program needs.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing support for IPT activities in collaboration with various technical and operational disciplines.
  • Designing test equipment hardware and software, selecting and procuring necessary tools to achieve desired outcomes, and integrating complex automated test systems.
  • Creating, coding, and debugging computer/data acquisition systems for automated testing using National Instruments' LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar software.
  • Ensuring that test data is organized, accurate, and properly archived.
  • Conducting calculations to establish test equipment specifications and design parameters.
  • Supporting production in the design of new test equipment and enhancements to existing systems.
Job Requirements

Minimum Security Clearance: Not Required

Required Skills / Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience in test engineering, encompassing analog and digital circuit design, microprocessor/microcontroller design, automated test system design, and software development.

At least 3 years of experience in product requirements development, requirements analysis/verification, and test procedure creation.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in configuration management within a regulated environment and 3 years with system-design platforms (e.g., LabView, TestStand).

Experience with SPICE, CAD, schematic design, and PWB layout is also required, along with familiarity with communication interfaces (e.g., ARINC429, CAN, RS232, I2C).

This position is within an aerospace/defense ITAR facility, requiring U.S. citizenship or a Green Card. Some travel may be necessary (less than 10%).

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's or PhD degree, experience in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, military, medical device), and LabView certification are advantageous.
